Lyrics: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, and bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, release to the prisoners, and the year of the Lord’s favor. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. He has sent me to comfort all who mourn, to give them a garland for ashes, the oil of gladness for mourning, and the mantle of praise for a faint spirit. They will be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display the glory of God. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor, and bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, the gift of sight to the blind, and the year of the Lord’s favor.
