Erfreut euch, ihr Herzen,
Entweichet, ihr Schmerzen, 
es lebet der Heiland und herrschet in euch.
Ihr könnet verjagen das Trauren,
da Fürchten, da ängstliche Zagen:
der Heiland erquicket sein geistliches Reich!

English translation of Movement I:
Rejoice, all you spirits, 
depart, all you sorrows,
alive is our Savior and ruling in you. 
You can now dispel all
that grieving, that fearing, that faint-hearted anguish, 
our Savior restores his rule over the soul.

Notes: First movement is the only choral movement in this cantata (except closing chorale). SATB choir and Alto and Bass soloists.
